WhatsApp Update: The popular meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will make website addresses look better in your status. Messaging applications are testing ways to create ‘Rich Preview’ for status.
The feature is identified by WABetaInfo, a website that tracks the latest features in the beta version of the app. In the report submitted by the website, we see a few screenshots that show what the feature will look like and what differences it will make.
This new feature has been seen in the Android version of the app. However, it is already being tested in WhatsApp beta for iOS. WhatsApp Desktop Beta 2.2218.1 and Android Beta are both testing new features. It shows that WhatsApp may finally be ready to launch this new feature for beta testing soon.
WhatsApp is also working on a new filter chat option. This feature was previously limited to business accounts, but recent screenshots suggest that the feature will be rolled out to standard WhatsApp accounts as well.
WhatsApp is also working on some new messaging features for future updates – a short message reply shortcut, a feature being developed soon on the WhatsApp desktop beta.
According to WABetaInfo, you can quickly reply to a message in a chat thread by following two different methods: you can select “Reply” from the message options, or double-tap the message row. The recent WhatsApp Desktop Beta 2.2218.0 update mentions a third method of replying to messages, available in future updates of the app:
The report reveals that WhatsApp is creating a shortcut to reply to a new message next to the feedback button: Thanks to the new shortcut, you’ll be able to reply to a message faster than before by double-clicking on the shortcut.
