COVID-19 in India: active cases reduced to 18,604; 5.24 lakh deaths were reported

According to data released by the Union Ministry of Health on Friday, 2,841 new coronavirus infections have been reported in a single day, with the number of COVID-19 cases in India rising to 4,31,16,254, with active cases dropping to 18,604.

At 8am, the death toll rose to 5,24,190 with nine people killed.

Active cases accounted for 0.04 percent of total infections, with a national COVID-19 recovery rate of 98.74 percent recorded, the health ministry said.

A reduction of 463 cases was recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload within 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health, the daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.58 percent and the weekly positivity rate was 0.69 percent.

The number of people recovering from the disease has risen to 4,25,73,460, with the death rate recorded at 1.22 percent.

The increasing dose administered in the country so far under the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination campaign has exceeded 190.99 crore.

The number of Kovid-19s in India crossed 20 lakhs on 7 August 2020, 30 lakhs on 23 August, 40 lakhs on 5 September and 50 lakhs on 16 September.

It surpassed 60 lakh on 28 September, 70 lakh on 11 October, 80 lakh on 29 October, 90 lakh on 20 November and one crore on 19 December.

India crossed the horrific milestone of 2 crore on May 4 and 3 crore on June 23.
